Our editorial team scores providers before any commercial conversation. Affiliate fees never alter rankings or verdicts.

Every comparison surfaces sponsored placements clearly. Methodology and last-updated dates appear on every page.
Evidence-based
We use SAcsi data, provider disclosures, FSCA filings and mystery-shop tests — not press releases.
Reader-first
Recommendations are framed around real South African use-cases: families, gig workers, retirees, SMEs.
Our scoring framework
Every provider score is the weighted average of five categories. Weights vary slightly by product type — for medical aid, Claims & service weighs higher.

Editorial independence
MoneyWise editors and analysts do not see commercial pipelines for any product they review. Rankings are finalised in editorial before commercial teams are notified. Providers may not preview, edit or veto reviews.
