How the network works
- Hospitals: ~120 designated private hospitals nationally. Outside the network → 30% co-payment (waived for true emergencies).
- GPs: must use a KeyCare-contracted GP. ~3,400 GPs across SA — coverage is strong in metros, weaker in small towns.
- Specialists: referrals required from your KeyCare GP. Specialist cover is risk-based, not from an MSA.
Where it shines
For a 25–35 year old urban professional earning R20k–R32k/month, KeyCare Plus delivers genuine medical aid (PMBs, hospital, chronic) for a price closer to health insurance. Vitality is included.
